Selena Gomez and her friends on Wizards of Waverly Place signed off in style, setting Disney Channel’s record for the most-watched finale ever.
Friday evening’s special one-hour telecast of the series boasted 9.8 million total viewers from 8-9 p.m., topping CBS’ A Gifted Man in the hour for viewership by nearly 1.5 million. Easily the franchise’s most-watched episode, the closer also set series bests among kids 6-11 (4.2 million) and tweens 9-14 (3.8 million).
Notably, the Wizards of Waverly Place finale is the current TV season’s most-watched cable telecast among scripted programs. For a point of reference, the comedy has usually hovered around the 4 million mark during its four-season run.

Selena Gomez has FINALLY snagged long-term protection from a delusional man who says he’s spoken with God about killing the actress.
Gomez got a 3-year restraining order against Thomas Brodnicki this AM … after a judge agreed Brodnicki posed a serious danger to her safety.
The Disney star was NOT present in the L.A. Courtroom when the order was handed down … nor was Brodnicki.
As we previously reported, the judge had previously refused to enter the long-term order because Brodnicki had not been present to tell his side of the story. But this time, Selena’s lawyer submitted a declaration from Brodnicki himself in which he admitted “a restraining order should be issued against me to prevent me from trying to contact Selena.”
Selena hosted MTV’s 2012 New Years Eve In NYC yesterday (December 31st) with her pal Demi lovato. She performed love you like a love song and hit the lights. Watch the videos below if you missed it.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez snuck down to Mexico yesterday for a very private wedding — but put away the pitchforks, Bieber fans … they’re not the ones tying the knot.
TMZ has learned … the duo flew south of the border to attend the wedding of one of Selena’s friends Shannon Larossi — a costume designer Selena met on the Disney show “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
Selena’s one of the bridesmaids — and we’re told, she even plans to sing at the nuptials.
As for Justin — we’re told he’ll just be a regular super-famous guest … not a performer.

“Right now we are wrapping up this year, and then beginning of next year I will be starting my new movie called ‘Spring Breakers,’” she told MTV News. “I’m really, really excited about it.”
We have to say there’s a lot to be excited about. “It’s a different character than I have ever played before,” she said. “It’s a different kind of vibe I think than people are used to seeing me in. What you’re going to see is more raw, I think. It’s going to be raw and more about acting.”
Given the movie’s plot, we suggest that Selena wait a while before she allows her little brother or sister to check it out.
They basically disrespected Selena’s mom, Selena, and Justin in their show. It’s very disgusting and disturbing, but since everyone is talking about it you can hear it here starting at 5:00. I feel so bad because that’s her mom and her soon to be sibling and I know she has wanted one forever. This is horrible and this is why Selena can never share anything with her fans because people are idiotic. Mandy is going to be an amazing mom no doubt about it and I hope the family can shut out all the hate. Selena tweeted this, but later deleted it:
